Do you have an idea for our Democracy CoP to promote democracy, human rights, peace, inclusion, & social equity, and need some resources to make it happen? Do you have a collaboration in mind that could advance your agenda?

💰Grant Size

We will be supporting three (3) projects for USD$3,333 each. Your application should explain how the project will spend that entire funding.

📋Criteria

Applications must advance the Democracy CoP's vision, mission or purpose to be eligible to proceed to the voting round:

Vision

To strengthen democracy to sustain peace, better serve people and preserve the planet

Mission

To enable democratic renewal by increasing meaningful participation of the people, particularly those living at the margins

Purpose

Shaping cultures of human rights, inclusion and equity in every corner of the world, our CoP shall work to create platforms and opportunities for individuals and groups to:

Be well-informed about their rights and freedoms;
Amplify their voices;
Contribute to democratization efforts;
Achieve a world that is more just, fair, empowering of the most marginalized

All projects must be able to be implemented within a two month period. We will also prioritize projects that involve collaboration between CoP group members.

⭐Qualifications/Exclusions

All project ideas must comply with the Obama Foundations 501(c)(3) status. For more information on this, see here. They must also comply with the broader Obama Leadership Network (OLN) guidelines, which you can access here. We reserve the right to remove any projects from being eligible to vote if it is in breach of these guidelines, or is considered inappropriate for other reasons. In this case we will provide the project submitter with a brief explanation as to why this decision was made. Using funding to pay for travel for OLN members is also ineligible.
