Project Idea:
Title: Value-Based Leadership in a Democratic System (Utilizing Storytelling)
Issue: Value-based leadership presents a significant challenge within modern democratic systems. Systems that prioritize a \"win-at-all-costs\" approach gradually diminish trust. Inspiring people and helping them discover their own values through the examples set by others are essential aspects of reinforcing the \"story of us,\" and achieving this requires a deliberate effort.
It is within the context of this challenge that the need arises to motivate our citizens, through value-based leadership, to convey the narrative in a manner that aligns with our shared values.
Purpose: Initiate a dialogue on the role of value-based leadership through storytelling in democratic systems.
How:
Activity 1: Hosting an Online Forum
What: Organize an online forum titled \"Value-Based Leadership in Democracy.\"
Who: Extend invitations to distinguished speakers who can delve into democracy-related topics and elucidate the importance of value-based leadership within the democratic framework.
Conference Participation: Engage leaders from the Democracy CoP, selected through a competition, to share their personal stories (3 anecdotes each).
Audience Engagement: Empower each CoP member to utilize the platform to invite 5 individuals from their respective societies as conference attendees. This will provide them with an opportunity to gain insights into the purpose of the Obama Network Democracy CoP and the event's focal theme.
Results: Facilitate an open and stimulating discussion, fostering interest in value-based leadership within the context of democracy.
Activity 2: Creating a Media Campaign
What: Develop a media campaign featuring at least 10 podcasts organized by the Democracy CoP, focusing on value-based leadership in democratic systems through storytelling.
Topics:
• Defunding the values in leadership practice
• Populism and public narrative
• Political polarization
• Ethical leadership
Who: Involve Democracy CoP network members and specialists.
How: Produce high-quality visual podcasts that will be distributed on platforms such as YouTube, podcast hosting platforms, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.
Activity 3: Designing an Online and Printed Brochure
What: Create a high-quality online brochure featuring stories from Democracy CoP members, highlighting how they have implemented values within their communities and the significance of these actions.
Who: Engage Democracy CoP members and specialists.
How: Collaborate with specialists to design the brochure. Additionally, consider printing 50 physical copies for presentation and sharing at the November Chicago summit (if possible).
How We Measure Success:
Participation: At least 30 members' participation in the dialogue from the Democracy CoP group.
At least 20 people's participation from outside the network.
Reaching 3,000 people on social media through the campaign.
At least 1,000 people reviewing the podcasts.
At least a 70% positive survey response rate regarding our activities.
Budget:
Online Forum (Activity 1):Speaker honorariums: $2,000
Technical support and platform costs: $1,000
Marketing and promotion: $800
Total for Activity 1: $3,800
Media Campaign (Activity 2):
Podcast production (recording, editing, and hosting): $2,500
Marketing and promotion of podcasts: $1,200
Total for Activity 2: $3,700
Online and Printed Brochure (Activity 3):
Brochure design and production (online and printed): $1,500
Distribution (printing, shipping, and online hosting): $800
Total for Activity 3: $2,300
Miscellaneous Expenses (e.g., contingencies): $200
Monitoring and Evaluation: $300
Total Project Budget: $10,000
P.S. If you will decide to choose this project, we can modify and improve every detail together.
Warm regards,
Maka
